Top bananas!

This morning we continued our established breakfast routine from the previous day, then set out to explore museum island. This proved to be less exciting than it sounds (which Ellena thought wasn't very). We began with the National Gallery, where Nads particularly enjoyed the animal statues by Rembrandt Bugatti (brother of the famous car manufacturer).
After a small refuel of Haribo outside, we ventured into the next museum, which was about ancient history. To everyone's dismay, Anne was especially keen to see the archeology exhibit on the top floor, so we were forced to trek up 3 huge flights of stairs. However the effort proved to be worth it, and we were thoroughly entertained by by the Neanderthal models.
At this point we decided we'd got our money's worth from the museum island ticket, and headed off to see the Berlin Dom (the city cathedral). This was an top shout from Nads, and we were all very impressed with the building. Despite briefly losing Nads (followed by an emotional reunion), we all had a really good time, climbing a grand total of 279 stairs to reach the top for fab views of the city.
However, whilst we had been enjoying the cathedral, a storm had arisen outside. In spite of this, we braved the torrential rain to get a long overdue lunch of paninis, before setting out to visit the Willy Brandt museum at Anne's request #EconomistProbs.
Now very tired, we returned to the hostel, where once again I was the only one actually able to sleep. We then began prepping ourselves in order to hit the Berlin nightlife, and also met our new roommates, who were rather excitingly a group of fellow interrailers!
We began the evening by sampling the local beers alongside our traditional German dinner (schnitzels all round), before heading to the beach bars by the river. Fittingly, we all opted for the local drink of Jaegermeister (which Ellena still can't pronounce), and soaked up the ambience from the deck chairs lining the riverside (with everyone ignoring Nadia's attempts to drag us onto the dancefloor).
After an amazing night, we trekked back to the hostel, very ready for our beds!

Ps. Sorry for the delay in posting, we had a late night!
